Lange was love at first sight for me and so it made me very happy to be commissioned to create this drawing of a client’s grail watch, the Datograph Perpetual. There were a handful of directions we could have gone in but featuring the caliber L.952.1 manual winding movement was really the only choice. The movement is visible on the back of this watch and it’s S T U N N I N G. I decided to bring part of it forward to rest just underneath the face of the watch along the bottom. The date and numbers set on the subdials are of personal significance.
