Rolex // Submariner 16800

This Rolex Submariner 16800 piece was commissioned by a diving enthusiast. He grew up in Tennessee watching a show called Sea Hunt which inspired diving lessons at an early age and a lifelong passion to follow. He fell in love with the Submariner as a child and after seeing it on James Bond, made it his first purchase when he started working. The inspiration for this drawing is, of course, submarine. I’ve used a water surface effect at the top to create a feeling of submersion. The marine life at the bottom has been taken from my client’s diving photos. Just off the left side running from top to bottom is the Exumas island chain in the Bahamas, his favourite spot to dive. Time and date have been set to significant personal numbers.
