OMEGA Speedmaster ST105.102

About This Project

The OMEGA Speedmaster ST105.102 is considered the first Moonwatch, worn by both Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 mission when they landed on the moon July 20, 1969. The time is set to 2:56:15 for when Armstrong first stepped on to the surface of the moon and the chronograph dials are set to the EVA (extravehicular activity) of the mission, around 2h31. Armstrong describes the surface of the moon as adhering “in fine layers, like powdered charcoal, to the sole and sides of my boots.” Sounds like moon dust would be a pretty decent medium to work with, shame I only had graphite and not moon dust for this one!
